Lothringer13_Florida and Magazine FLORIDA #01 will be featured at Artist Self Publisher’s Fair. 

UK and international independent artist self-publishers will to join together for the Artist Self-Publishers‘ Fair which will launch at the Institute of Contemporary Arts London. 12th September 2015, 11am-7pm. This fair seeks to celebrate and promote their work. The publications are the art works. Affordable and available, yet without the fetters of the institution or gallery, the ideas, images and text are produced and published by artists who understand the restrictions and freedoms of the printed page. In contrast to the growing number of ‚opportunities‘, this fair is strictly for artist self-publishers only and will not feature booksellers or mainstream publishing houses.

Πώς μπορεί κανείς να αποσταθεροποιήσει τις σταθερές αναπαραστάσεις της Ιστορίας; Μεταφέροντας το παρελθόν προς το μέλλον αλλά και προς τα πίσω, κάθε μία από τις επιλεγμένες ταινίες εστιάζει σε διαφορετικούς τρόπους για τα χρονικά αρχεία, τα οποία πολιτικοποιούν και αναγνωρίζουν τη ρευστότητα και την αστάθεια των ταυτοτήτων και των χώρων. Σε αυτές τις παράξενες απεικονίσεις του χρόνου, οι οποίες είναι πιο εύθραυστες και γεμάτες χάρη από ό, τι είναι τα παραδοσιακά αρχεία και οι τρόποι αφήγησης, οι ελλείπουσες πληροφορίες είναι το κύριο περιεχόμενο αλλά και η εστίασή τους. Περιλαμβάνουν το προσωπικό στο πολιτικό, το μικροσκοπικό σε μία μεγαλύτερη κλίμακα δομών- την οικειότητα, τη σεξουαλικότητα, τα συναισθήματα, την οργή και το φόβο – για να ξεκινήσει μια προβολή που έρχεται σε αντίθεση με τις κυρίαρχες αφηγήσεις.

Σε αυτό το workshop θα μελετήσουμε κάποια αποσπάσματα από το βιβλίο An Archive of Feelings της Ann Cvetkovich, στο οποίο μιλάει για τα λεγόμενα «λαϊκά» αρχεία, τα οποία έχουν συλλέξει υλικό και έχουν έρθει για πρώτη φορά στη διάθεση του κοινού μέσα σε ιδιωτικά διαμερίσματα: “Η βαθιά συναισθηματική δύναμη ενός χρήσιμου αρχείου, ειδικά ενός αρχείου για της σεξουαλικότητα και την ζωή των ομοφυλόφιλων αντρών και γυναικών,το οποίο πρέπει να διατηρηθεί και να παράγει όχι μόνο γνώσεις, αλλά και συναισθήματα.” Δουλεύοντας με τη θεωρία αυτή, θέλουμε να δούμε υλικό από αρχεία queer, π.χ. Φόρουμ München Homosexualität München, ένα μη κερδοσκοπικό οργανισμό που συλλέγει από το 1999, υλικό από την γκέι και λεσβιακή κοινότητα , προκειμένου να αμφισβητήσει την κωδικοποίηση της ταυτότητας και την κατασκευή της ιστορίας.


PHILIPP GUFLER

Ο καλλιτέχνης Philipp Gufler (* 1989) ζει στο Μόναχο. Το έργο του καλύπτει μια ποικιλία μέσων (τυπώματα, performance,video, και πολλά άλλα). Σπούδασε στην Ακαδημία Καλών Τεχνών του Μονάχου, την Ακαδημία Design της Καρλσρούης, και το Πανεπιστήμιο του Άμστερνταμ. Η δουλεία του προβληθεί στο “Loop” στη Βαρκελώνη, Kunstverein München, “Videonale15″ στην Kunstmuseum Βόννη και στις στοές Françoise Heitsch στο Μόναχο καθώς και Sassa Trülzsch στο Βερολίνο. Από τον Απρίλιο του 2013, ο Gufler έχει διεξάγει έρευνα στα αρχεία του Φόρουμ Homosexualität München και από τον Οκτώβριο του 2014 είναι μέρος της επιτροπής στην Lothringer13Florida, ένας χώρος διοικούμενος από καλλιτέχνες,με την βοήθεια της πόλης του Μονάχου.

How to destabilize fixed representations of history? Transporting the past into the future and backwards, each of the selected films are focusing in different ways on temporal archives, which politicize and acknowledge the fluidity and instability of identities and spaces. In these queer visualizations of time, which are more fluent and fragile than traditional archives and ways of storytelling, the missing informations are their main content and focus. They include the personal as political, the micro to the macro-scale structure – intimacy, sexuality, feelings, anger and fear – to launch a projection that runs counter to dominant narratives.

In the workshop we are looking on excerpts of the book An Archive of Feelings by Ann Cvetkovich, in which she writes about so-called grassroots archives, which collect material and were first made publicly available in private flats: „The profoundly affective power of a useful archive, especially an archive of sexuality and gay and lesbian life, which must preserve and produce not just knowledge, but feelings.” Working with this theory, we want to look at materials from queer archives, e.g. Forum München Homosexualität München, a nonprofit organization collecting since 1999 materials from the gay and lesbian movement, in order to question the codifying of identity and the construction of history.

PHILIPP GUFLER

The artist Philipp Gufler (* 1989) lives in Munich. His work spans a variety of media (prints, performances, video work, and more). He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, the Academy of Design Karlsruhe, and the University of Amsterdam. His work has been shown at “Loop” in Barcelona, Kunstverein München, “Videonale15” at Kunstmuseum Bonn and in the galleries Françoise Heitsch in Munich and Sassa Trülzsch in Berlin. Since April 2013, Gufler has been conducting research in the archives of Forum Homosexualität München e.V. and since October 2014 he is part of the committee at Lothringer13Florida, an artist-run space by the city of Munich.
